Tibetan Rugs
Although popularly called “Tibetan” rugs, the majority of these exquisite products are handcrafted in Nepal, a region south of Tibet. Their beauty is truly legendary. Each is hand-knotted by generation-trained artisans in the shadows of the Himalayas, and our 100% wool and wool/silk combinations represent the absolute finest you’ll encounter on Long Island. Transitional, traditional, contemporary and even modern designs abound. Tibetan rugs essentially come in three different knot counts: 60 knots, for the coarser, more popular look; 80 knots, for a softer, finer feel; and 100 knots, which is very fine and usually woven with silk additions. Country Carpet carries Designer Reserve, Core, Barbara Barry Variations, Twilight Collections, and many more, as well as a range of modern styles. |
