Q: We love the story of how you turned your hobby and passion for design into a flourishing interior design business. Please tell us how your decade-long career from working in fashion and digital media has inspired your success as a notable New York-based boutique interior design firm?
A: While the transition from fashion to interior design came with its challenges, it was far from a complete departure. Many of the skills I developed in fashion—particularly those related to client service—have translated seamlessly into my work in design. Understanding how to anticipate needs, communicate effectively, and build trust with clients has proven invaluable in both industries, and continues to shape the way I approach every project.
Q: Your flair for fashion and distinct sense of style shines through in every room you design. What is the one design trend you’re loving right now?
A: I absolutely love color drenching a room—extending the same hue across the walls, trim, and ceiling. When executed thoughtfully, it creates a fully immersive environment that can dramatically shift the mood and character of a space. It’s one of the most effective ways to transport you from one room to the next, giving each space its own distinct atmosphere and sense of depth.
Q: Building layered livable spaces is part of your signature style. Is there one room or space you love designing the most? If so, why is it your favorite?
A: Primary bedrooms are my favorite spaces to design. I always encourage clients to view this room as their personal sanctuary—one that deserves thoughtful attention and elevated furnishings. Unlike public-facing areas of the home, the primary bedroom is deeply personal, which makes it the perfect place to invest in more meaningful, high-quality pieces. It’s where you begin and end each day—and I believe it should feel restorative, intimate, and distinctly your own.
Q: Your love for travel is inspiring! Do you have a favorite country that helped shape your global sense of design style? What is it about that particular country that influences your creativity?
A: Italy has always held a special place in my heart and my design aesthetic. It’s where my family is from and where I never get sick of visiting. The colors, marble, ceramics, and luxe textiles provide endless sources of inspiration.
Q: We love how your designs have a “fashion-meets-interior design” vibe. What advice would you give to create this unique and sophisticated look?
A: I often compare interior design to getting dressed in the morning. You begin with the essentials—your foundational layers—then build upon them with clothing, accessories, and outerwear to create a cohesive look. Designing a room follows the same principle: You start with the core pieces, then thoughtfully layer in rich textiles, decorative accents, artwork, and personal touches until the space feels fully realized and complete.
Q: Creating contemporary, comfortable spaces for your clients is the cornerstone of your success. What elements of the design process are most important to create a happy home for your clients?
A: First and foremost, listen to your clients lifestyle and address their needs! Focus on the value. Add pieces and put those first in your design process.
Q: With summer in full swing, what are your top design tips for creating a fun and welcoming outdoor space?
A: Lots of comfortable seating and special spaces that encourage conversation.
